The Washington DC Wedding Venues We Love Most
An editorial guide and a data tool from the team that has worked weddings across the DMV, from Navy Yard rooftops to Maryland wine country and the estates of the Virginia countryside. The venues we love, the couples they serve best, and everything we have learned along the way.
The DMV is really three weddings in one region. A stadium rooftop over the Capitol, a lavender farm an hour north in Maryland, a Blue Ridge lodge two hours west in Virginia. Same guest list, completely different days. The venues are not interchangeable. These are our favorites.
When we say the DMV, we mean the whole metro. The District itself, the Maryland suburbs from Rockville up to Frederick, Northern Virginia out past Dulles, and the wine country and Blue Ridge towns within a couple hours of the city. Wherever your guest list is traveling from, there is a venue on this page that fits.
This is an editorial guide and a data tool, built together. Every venue below is here because we have worked the DMV long enough to recommend it confidently. The notes are honest. The pricing guidance is what the venues publish, sourced straight from them or from established review sites, not guessed at.
The venues are organized by where they sit and how they feel, not ranked. A Navy Yard rooftop is not better or worse than a Frederick County vineyard or a Shenandoah overlook. They are different. The question is which one is right for you.
Beyond these favorites, we are building out the full DMV directory venue by venue. New spoke pages publish weekly. If you do not see one you are considering, our concierge team can research it for you.

In & Around the District
Close-in venues where guest logistics stay simple: a stadium, a historic mansion, and two full-service hotels.

Audi Field
If you want a wedding that feels unmistakably DC, this is it. A pro stadium in Navy Yard with rooftop bars, floor-to-ceiling windows, and open-air decks framing the Capitol and the Washington Monument. The Heineken Rooftop and Riverview Deck let you stage the night across different spaces, and the energy is built into the room before the first song.

The Mansion at Strathmore
A historic mansion just off the Red Line, Strathmore trades ballroom scale for real character. Palladian windows, marble mantels, and sweeping staircases set the tone indoors, while the gardens and sculpture garden carry cocktail hour outside. With a smaller guest count and a cohesive layout, the night feels intimate and connected start to finish.

DoubleTree by Hilton Gaithersburg
A low-stress wedding day without sacrificing style. Right off I-270 with on-site room blocks, the DoubleTree keeps the whole celebration in one place. Multiple ballrooms, from the spacious Majestic to the more intimate Discovery and Innovation rooms, let you match the space to your guest count so the room feels full and intentional, never oversized.

Westfields Marriott Washington Dulles
A Virginia-estate feel with full-service-hotel convenience. Set across 26 wooded acres near Dulles, Westfields pairs one of the largest ballrooms in Northern Virginia with grounds and interiors that keep a big wedding from feeling corporate. Lodging and dining on-site mean guests stay present instead of worrying about logistics.
Maryland Countryside & Shore
Wine country and waterfront a short drive out, where the land and the views do the decorating.

The Crossvines
A refreshing change from a downtown ballroom. Set in Montgomery County wine country and opened in 2023, The Crossvines spreads the day across vineyards, gardens, and open space. Ceremonies take a scenic backdrop, and the reception hall, with wood beams and vaulted ceilings, brings everyone together. The shift from outdoor calm to indoor energy works in your favor once the dancing starts.

Springfield Manor
A 130-acre estate that photographs from every angle. Lavender fields, vineyard rows, and a 1765 manor house set the scene, with ceremonies on the front lawn framed by seasonal blooms. From there the celebration shifts into either the elegant ballroom or the barn, so you can shape the reception to fit your vision. Winery, distillery, and brewery on-site keep the beverage program simple.

Kent Island Volunteer Fire Department
A more casual, community-driven option on Maryland's Eastern Shore. Near the water, it carries a relaxed, coastal feel that suits couples who want something simple and unfussy. The hall leans functional over formal, which is an advantage: it gives you a blank canvas to shape the layout and vibe exactly how you want, then build the night around a central dance floor.
Virginia Estates & Mountains
Historic estates and Blue Ridge escapes west of the city, built for couples who want a destination feel close to home.

Sweeney Barn
Built in 1939 and fully restored, Sweeney Barn keeps its agricultural roots while reading polished and ready. Exposed beams, a multi-level layout, and a lot included, from tables and chairs to ceremony pieces and decor accents, so there are fewer moving parts to manage. The flow between levels keeps guests connected, so the dance floor fills the moment it opens.

Historic Rosemont Manor
An estate dating to 1811, surrounded by Virginia countryside that feels classic without being stuffy. Multiple ceremony sites give you flexibility, and receptions land in the Carriage House, where polished finishes open onto a stone garden terrace. The real draw is the weekend: with on-site lodging for dozens, guests settle in early, so by the reception the energy is already there.

Skyland Lodge
High above the Shenandoah Valley at the highest point on Skyline Drive, Skyland feels worlds away from the city. The views stretch for miles and change with the light. With lodging, trails, and overlooks on-property, guests settle in and spend real time together, so by the reception they already feel like a tight-knit group. The room is warm before the music even starts.
