Music has been his outlet since his freshman year of high school, and by the time he was 16 he had saved enough to buy his first set of turntables and a mixer. Today he is a Toast DJ with nightclubs, radio shows, and major South Texas wedding stages on his resume, and the kind of crowd-read instinct you only build over thousands of nights behind the booth.
He has worked McAllen, Edinburg, Brownsville, Harlingen, Mission, Pharr, and the Coastal Bend out to Corpus Christi, Port Aransas, and the ranches outside Mathis. He reads a Rio Grande Valley reception room well, knows when to pull cumbia, banda, and Tejano in alongside top 40 and country, and treats every detail of your day, the setup, the soundcheck, the timeline, with the kind of preparation Walter built Toast on.

Your music plan, must-plays and do-not-plays
Before the wedding, you and your DJ build the soundtrack together, from processional to last dance. The do-not-play list is sacred. On the night, your DJ reads the room and adjusts in real time.
Pro sound, ceremony audio included
We bring our own sound system, calibrated for your venue and guest count. No house speakers, no borrowed gear. Ceremony sound and wireless mics come at no extra charge, with a full sound check before guests arrive.
A backup DJ and backup gear, every event
From the Valley to the Coastal Bend, plenty of DJs work alone. Toast keeps trained backup DJs on call and a second rig ready. Your South Texas wedding keeps its music.
Uplighting and custom lighting design are add-ons we'll happily quote. Quinceañeras, LGBTQ+ weddings, multicultural fusions, country weddings: our DJs are trained to honor them and get them right.

Essential DJ Experience, starting at $995. Up to four hours of DJ and MC service. Ideal for intimate ceremonies and short receptions.
Platinum DJ Experience, starting at $1,795. Most Popular. Continuous coverage from 30 minutes before ceremony through midnight, with no time limits and 10 LED uplights setting the ambiance.
Diamond DJ Combo, starting at $2,495. Everything in Platinum, plus an Ultimate Photo Booth with unlimited instant prints, a full digital gallery, and one Signature Touch on the house.
Bundle another service and you'll receive $100 to $400 in savings.
Venues we know before your date
We have the South Texas favorites covered. Quinta Mazatlán in McAllen is a 1930s adobe mansion. The CITGO Skyline at the Texas State Aquarium overlooks Corpus Christi Bay. Lumberyard Events Co. in Sinton fills a 1926 building.
If your venue is not listed, ask us. We have probably been there, and if not, we will learn everything about it.
South Texas wedding DJ questions
Most South Texas couples book 8 to 12 months out. Fall, October and November, and spring, March through May, are the busy seasons. October and April weekends disappear first. If you have Quinta Mazatlán or Lively Beach Resort, book your DJ right after the venue.
A DJ plays music. An MC runs your reception. Every Toast DJ is both, so introductions, toasts, and special dances are handled by the same person reading your dance floor. No separate emcee to hire.
Absolutely. Your music plan includes must-plays, genres you love, and a do-not-play list we take seriously. If the Chicken Dance is banned, it stays banned. Your DJ still reads the room, just inside the lines you set.
Always, with no added fee. Speakers and wireless mics come with us to the Rooftop Deck at Lively Beach Resort. The same setup works in the open-air chapel at Twisted Ranch or the pergola courtyard at Quinta Mazatlán. The sound check happens before guests take their seats.
Toast is a company, not a solo operator. If your assigned DJ can't make it, another trained Toast DJ steps in with your music plan, timeline, and venue details already in hand. You'll never be left without a DJ.
Yes. We cover the Rio Grande Valley and the Coastal Bend: Edinburg, Brownsville, Harlingen, Mission, Pharr, San Benito, Kingsville, Corpus Christi, and out to Sinton. Travel within 30 miles of McAllen or Corpus Christi is included. Farther? Just ask.
Yes. We schedule planning consultations between you and your assigned Toast DJ, so they hear your music vision from you and build the timeline with you. You'll know your DJ before the day.
DJ and MC service, premium sound, ceremony audio and dance floor lighting come with every South Texas package. Your DJ builds the music plan with you before the day. Platinum and Diamond add 10 LED uplights and unlimited coverage.
