The South Texas Wedding Venues We Love Most
An editorial guide and a data tool from the team that has worked weddings across the Coastal Bend, the Rio Grande Valley, and the ranch country in between. The venues we love, the couples they serve best, and everything we have learned along the way.
South Texas does weddings on its own terms. Mustang Island beaches, McAllen mansion gardens, ranches outside Beeville with open-air chapels and oak-covered patios. The venues are not interchangeable. These are our favorites.
This is an editorial guide and a data tool, built together. Every venue below is here because we have actually worked there or know it well enough to recommend it confidently. The notes are honest. The capacity numbers come straight from the venues and the established review platforms, not from a third party guessing at it. Where pricing is publicly published, we say so. Where it is not, we say that too.
The venues are organized by the kind of wedding they serve best, not ranked. A Mustang Island beach resort is not better or worse than an RGV historic mansion or a Beeville ranch. They are different. The question is which one is right for you.
Beyond these favorites, we are building out the full South Texas directory venue by venue. New spoke pages publish weekly. If you do not see one you are considering, our concierge team can research it for you.

Coastal Bend Beachfront & Bayfront
Gulf at the back of the ceremony, bay views from the rooftop, the Texas coast doing the heavy lifting.

Lively Beach Resort
Opened July 2020 and built from scratch as a modern beachfront resort. 68 units on Mustang Island with a private boardwalk to the Gulf. Two wedding spaces: the Rooftop Deck for sunset ceremonies with bay and Gulf views, and the Beach Club for receptions right on the sand. On-property lodging means your guest list can check in Friday and stay through Sunday brunch.

Texas State Aquarium
A working aquarium that also hosts weddings, with six event spaces from 150 guests at the Shark Exhibit to 1,100 at full buyout. The CITGO Skyline overlooks Corpus Christi Bay. The Caribbean Journey wraps your reception in jungle and reef exhibits. Pricing is unusually transparent for a venue at this scale.
Historic Mansions & Garden Estates
Mansion bones, garden ceremonies, the architecture that does most of your design work for you.

Mansion Royal
A full-service mansion-style venue on the south side of Corpus, three ballrooms and an on-site catering team that handles weddings end to end. The Mansion Ballroom seats 450 at 9,240 square feet. The Royal Ballroom seats 250. The Queen Banquet handles the rehearsal dinner the night before. One of the few Corpus venues built to host everything from welcome reception to Sunday brunch under one roof.

Quinta Mazatlán
A 1930s Spanish Revival adobe mansion sitting inside an urban birding sanctuary in McAllen. Cantera stone patios, a pergola courtyard, and gardens that earn their reputation in the late afternoon light. Pricing is publicly listed at $4,800 to $6,800 for six hours, ceremony and reception included, with BYO catering and design. Closed Sunday and Monday.
South Texas Ranches & Rustic Venues
Working ranches, restored mills, the open-air chapels and oak-covered patios that make a South Texas wedding feel like one.

Rancho Cielito Lindo
A working ranch wedding venue between Corpus and Kingsville. Main Lodge, Chapel, a separate Cielito Lindo Event Center, and private on-site cabins for the wedding party. The 4,000 square foot outdoor bar and party area is where the night actually happens. Up to 400 guests, which is rare on a ranch property. The cabins make this one of the few South Texas venues where a wedding can feel like a destination weekend without leaving the state.

Lumberyard Events Co.
A 1926 lumberyard, renovated into one of the most photogenic small-town venues in South Texas. Whitewashed facade, open-rafter ceilings, exposed brick, and a full kitchen built in. Three rentable rooms: Madera Hall for the main event, the Green Room for smaller gatherings, and the Mercantile for the rehearsal dinner. Thirty minutes from downtown Corpus, the easy rustic-historic option for a Coastal Bend wedding.

Erma Center
An 11,500 square foot brand-new event center in Riviera, built by a community foundation and named for Erma Colston, who pulled the Riviera Telephone Company back from bankruptcy in the 1940s. The facility leases for weddings and private events alongside its community function. New construction means the playbook is still being written, which works in your favor if you want a venue that bends to your vision instead of running you through a fixed template.

Twisted Ranch Events and Design
A brand-new South Texas ranch venue in Beeville, about an hour north of Corpus, set on a working cattle ranch with oak-covered patios. The 3,864 square foot open-air chapel seats 224 for the ceremony. The full bridal suite includes two additional dressing rooms accessed by a grand staircase. An on-site floral design studio is the rare detail that pulls part of the vendor list together at the venue itself. Now booking 2026 and 2027.
