San Antonio sits at the doorway to the Hill Country and never lets you forget it. Stone missions and oak-shaded estates inside the 410, vineyard country and chapel-set ranches a half hour up the road. The venues are not interchangeable. These are our favorites.

This is an editorial guide and a data tool, built together. Every venue below is here because we have actually worked there or know it well enough to recommend it confidently. The notes are honest. The pricing guidance is what we have seen firsthand. The capacity numbers come straight from the venues, not from a third party guessing at it.

The venues are organized by the kind of wedding they serve best, not ranked. A Hill Country mission is not better or worse than an in-town estate or a tucked-away garden. They are different. The question is which one is right for you.

Beyond these favorites, we are building out the full San Antonio directory venue by venue. New spoke pages publish weekly. If you do not see one you are considering, our concierge team can research it for you.

Honest answers to the real questions

How much do San Antonio wedding venues actually cost?
+
San Antonio venue rental alone typically runs $3,500 to $15,000 for a Saturday wedding, before catering, bar, or vendors. Hill Country estates and historic in-town properties trend higher. Intimate gardens and mid-week dates run noticeably lower. The Gardens at West Green publishes a transparent $3,250 to $4,650 rate card as a useful anchor for the lower end of the market. Our concierge team can research current pricing for any specific date and venue you are considering.
How far in advance should I book a San Antonio wedding venue?
+
Twelve to eighteen months is the honest answer for popular dates. October, April, and early November Saturdays book first, sometimes nearly two years out at the most popular Hill Country estates. If you have flexibility on date or are open to a Friday, Sunday, or mid-week, you can often book inside of nine months. Our concierge team tracks San Antonio venue availability and can tell you the landscape for any month.
What is the actual difference between in-town and Hill Country?
+
In-town venues are inside or near the 410 loop. The Veranda, the Botanical Garden, Magnolia Halle, and the Gardens at West Green all sit close to downtown lodging, so guest logistics stay simple. Hill Country venues are twenty to forty minutes north toward Spring Branch and Bulverde. Lost Mission, Stoney Creek, and Park 31 trade the in-town convenience for big sky, oak-canopied grounds, and the destination-wedding feel without an airport. Different driving distances, different vibes, often different price ceilings.
Do San Antonio venues require in-house catering?
+
Some do. The Veranda caters in-house through Spice of Life. Magnolia Halle and Lost Mission have on-site kitchens and preferred-caterer programs. The Botanical Garden, Park 31, and Stoney Creek are more flexible. If outside catering matters to you, tell our team upfront so we can filter the shortlist accordingly.
Which venues handle weather best?
+
San Antonio summers run hot and the Hill Country gets afternoon thunderstorms in the spring. The Veranda's four-seasons Pavilion has retractable glass doors that pull 220 seated either way the weather goes. Lost Mission's Modern Reception Hall is fully indoor and climate controlled. Stoney Creek's covered Outdoor Pavilion plus indoor dining hall covers both halves of the night. Our team can help you weigh the weather plan for your dates.
Does Toast actually have favorites or is this a paid list?
+
Not paid. These are the San Antonio venues we have worked at most often and would happily send our own family to. Toast makes its money from couples booking entertainment, not from venues. That financial separation is what lets us be honest.
How does the Toast Concierge Team actually work?
+
You reach out by phone, text, or email between 9 AM and 8 PM, seven days a week. A real person on the San Antonio team answers, learns what you are looking for, and helps from there. Custom venue shortlists, availability checks, quote help, vendor recommendations, planning questions. There is no charge and no obligation to book Toast for anything. The concierge team exists because wedding planning is harder than it should be.
