Hill Country sun
Austin sun is bright and it comes from a big sky. At a ranch venue out west there's often no tree between you and it. A west-facing aisle late in the day puts the whole bridal party in a squint. Summer afternoons clear 100 degrees, so summer couples usually move portraits to after dinner. The payoff is golden hour over the hills. Bluebonnets show up along the roadsides in spring, and spring couples ask about them every year.

Head west or north and it's HighPointe Estate, Canyonwood Ridge, Mae's Ridge and Camp Lucy. Those Hill Country properties have long sightlines and wide skies. The drive
MoPac and I-35 decide your timeline more than anything on the schedule. A downtown hotel to a Dripping Springs venue on a Saturday can run close to an hour. Getting ready in Georgetown and marrying in South Austin is a similar trip. Toast arrives early for every service. The first 30 miles from central Austin cost nothing extra. Engagement photos in Austin
Mount Bonnell at sunset gives you Lake Austin and the hills in one frame, though the stairs get busy. Zilker Botanical Garden has gardens and a koi pond; check the park's permit requirements. South Congress has the murals and the neon. Laguna Gloria is quieter, with old trees on the water.

Is $4,000 a lot for a wedding photographer?
For a full Hill Country day with two photographers, it's about where the market sits. Toast Austin starts at $1,395 and tops out with a two-photographer full day. See the Austin rates page for all three.
How many hours do we need?
Six hours handles most Austin weddings. Four works if the ceremony and reception share one spot, like Barr Mansion. Split sites with a long drive between them call for the full day.
How many photos will we get?
That depends on your hours and guest count, so we don't promise a number. You'll have your full edited gallery online within 30 days. Rush editing is available if you need a few early.
Do you do engagement sessions in Austin?
Yes. Packages 2 and 3 include one and Package 1 can add it. Mount Bonnell, South Congress and Laguna Gloria are popular.
How far ahead should we book?
October and April Saturdays go first, often 8 to 12 months out. Lock in photography once the venue is signed.
Who will photograph our wedding?
Aleisha Kone, our Photography Director, either shoots it or directs the Austin photographer who does. Steve, Brad T, Bonnie, Allie and Mary A are on the Austin team.
Do you cover the Hill Country?
