The DMV is really three weddings in one region. A stadium rooftop over the Capitol, a lavender farm an hour north in Maryland, a Blue Ridge lodge two hours west in Virginia. Same guest list, completely different days. The venues are not interchangeable. These are our favorites.

When we say the DMV, we mean the whole metro. The District itself, the Maryland suburbs from Rockville up to Frederick, Northern Virginia out past Dulles, and the wine country and Blue Ridge towns within a couple hours of the city. Wherever your guest list is traveling from, there is a venue on this page that fits.

This is an editorial guide and a data tool, built together. Every venue below is here because we have worked the DMV long enough to recommend it confidently. The notes are honest. The pricing guidance is what the venues publish, sourced straight from them or from established review sites, not guessed at.

The venues are organized by where they sit and how they feel, not ranked. A Navy Yard rooftop is not better or worse than a Frederick County vineyard or a Shenandoah overlook. They are different. The question is which one is right for you.

Beyond these favorites, we are building out the full DMV directory venue by venue. New spoke pages publish weekly. If you do not see one you are considering, our concierge team can research it for you.

A refreshing change from a downtown ballroom. Set in Montgomery County wine country and opened in 2023, The Crossvines spreads the day across vineyards, gardens, and open space. Ceremonies take a scenic backdrop, and the reception hall, with wood beams and vaulted ceilings, brings everyone together. A 130-acre estate that photographs from every angle. Lavender fields, vineyard rows, and a 1765 manor house set the scene, with ceremonies on the front lawn framed by seasonal blooms. From there the celebration shifts into either the elegant ballroom or the barn, so you can shape the reception to fit your vision. Winery, distillery, and brewery on-site keep the beverage program simple.

A more casual, community-driven option on Maryland's Eastern Shore. Near the water, it carries a relaxed, coastal feel that suits couples who want something simple and unfussy. The hall leans functional over formal, which is an advantage: it gives you a blank canvas to shape the layout and vibe exactly how you want, then build the night around a central dance floor.

Honest answers to the real questions

How much do Washington DC wedding venues actually cost?
+
It varies more than almost any market we work, because the DMV spans the District, Maryland, and Virginia. Venue rental alone commonly runs $4,000 to $15,000 for a Saturday, before catering, bar, or vendors. Restored barns like Sweeney Barn start around $5,500. Estates and full-weekend properties trend higher. Stadiums and full-service hotels quote by package rather than a flat rental, so they read as by inquiry. Our concierge team can research current pricing for any specific date and venue.
How far in advance should I book a DMV wedding venue?
+
Twelve to eighteen months is the honest answer for popular dates. The region's peak runs spring and fall, and October Saturdays at the most in-demand estates and wineries book first, sometimes well over a year out. If you have flexibility on date or are open to a Friday, Sunday, or mid-week, you can often book inside of nine months. Our concierge team tracks DMV venue availability and can tell you the landscape for any month.
What is the difference between the District, Maryland, and Virginia venues?
+
In and around the District means short guest travel and easy hotel access: Audi Field, Strathmore in Rockville, the DoubleTree in Gaithersburg, and the Westfields Marriott near Dulles. Maryland's countryside trades convenience for wine country and waterfront, from The Crossvines and Springfield Manor to the Eastern Shore. Virginia heads west into estates and mountains, where Sweeney Barn, Rosemont Manor, and Skyland Lodge offer acreage, quiet, and a destination feel. Skyland is the farthest, out in Shenandoah National Park.
Which DMV venues are best for a full-weekend wedding?
+
The ones with on-site lodging. Historic Rosemont Manor is built for it, with accommodations for dozens so guests settle in and reconnect before the ceremony. Skyland Lodge turns the weekend into a Shenandoah getaway with rooms, trails, and overlooks. Springfield Manor offers overnight options on its 130-acre estate. If a weekend experience matters to you, tell our team upfront and we will filter the shortlist accordingly.
Do DMV venues require in-house catering?
+
It depends on the venue. Hotels like the DoubleTree and Westfields Marriott handle catering in-house, and Skyland Lodge caters through the lodge with food-and-beverage minimums. Wineries like The Crossvines and Springfield Manor manage the beverage program on-site. Barns and estates such as Sweeney Barn and Rosemont Manor tend to be more flexible on outside vendors. If outside catering matters to you, tell our team upfront so we can filter the shortlist accordingly.
Does Toast actually have favorites or is this a paid list?
+
Not paid. These are the DMV venues we have worked and would happily send our own family to. Toast makes its money from couples booking entertainment, not from venues. That financial separation is what lets us be honest.
How does the Toast Concierge Team actually work?
+
You reach out by phone, text, or email between 9 AM and 8 PM, seven days a week. A real person on the DC team answers, learns what you are looking for, and helps from there. Custom venue shortlists, availability checks, quote help, vendor recommendations, planning questions. There is no charge and no obligation to book Toast for anything. The concierge team exists because wedding planning is harder than it should be.
