Heat, humidity and the light
Houston light is soft in the morning and harsh by noon. Humidity puts a haze on it most of the year. That haze is kind to skin, but it wilts hair and makeup fast. When the heat calls for it, we sometimes bring tents or umbrellas for outdoor portraits. Put your couple portraits in the last hour before sunset, and ask your planner to build the timeline around that window.
Where we shoot
Our photographers have worked The Bell Tower on 34th, The Juliana and Station 3. We know the Waterwall courtyard at The Bell Tower well. Museum halls at the Houston Museum of Natural Science run dark, so plan on flash for the reception. Nouveau Antique Art Venue is packed with antiques and art. We photograph those details before guests fill the room. Out past the Beltway we've covered The Farmhouse, The Meekermark and Camp Hosea. Those are wide-open properties where the sky does a lot of the work.
Getting around town
Plan for traffic. A Friday rehearsal across the 610 Loop can take twice as long at rush hour. If your getting-ready suite and venue sit on opposite sides of I-10 or I-45, tell us early. Toast arrives early for every service. Downtown hotels usually mean paid garages, so a parking pass for your photographer saves real minutes. Travel within 30 miles of the city center is free, which covers most of Katy, Pearland and Cypress.
Engagement sessions around Houston
Popular spots start with Hermann Park, where the reflection pool and the Japanese Garden sit close together. Buffalo Bayou Park gives you the downtown skyline over the water. The Heights works for a relaxed look, with bungalows, murals and coffee shops along 19th Street. Check the park's permit requirements before you lock in a spot.

How many hours of photography do we need?
Six hours covers most Houston weddings, from getting ready through the first hour of dancing. Four hours works for an afternoon ceremony with a short reception. If you're splitting the day between a church and a hotel ballroom, take the full day.
How many photos will we get, and when?
The count depends on hours, guests and how much of the day is outdoors. The gallery arrives online within 30 days with full print rights. If you need images sooner for a thank-you card, expedited editing is an add-on.
