Floating candles are a trend that has been going strong for a few years. While they can be a bride’s dream, they can also turn into your coordinator’s worst nightmare. Here is what you need to know to make them easy to setup, and save your coordinator a ton of time (which saves you $$$).

Be sure to provide:

1. Multiple Pitchers

Having more than one pitcher cuts down on setup time significantly. Your coordinator will let one pitcher fill up while using a second pitcher to quickly fill a few containers. This is the most time consuming part of the job.

2. A Large Funnel

Having a large funnel available allows for faster filling and less spilling. Totally not required, but super helpful.

3. A Long Water Hose

A long water hose or close-by sink is necessary. If neither is nearby, you will need to provide 5 gallon jug or similar to bring water to the reception space.

4. Towels For Cleanup

You will certainly need to bring LARGE towels or a mop + bucket in case of a spill. Each container holds quite a bit of water. One spill will soak a table linen, so it is important to be prepared, just in case.

5. Extra Containers

Be sure to order extra containers. They are glass and full of water, so they are heavier. This should keep them firmly on the table, but if one did hit the ground it would certainly shatter. This is especially important for outdoor weddings where wind is a factor.

6. Extra Lighters

If a lighter gets wet, it is rendered useless until it dries out. Make sure you have plenty of extras in case water ends up where you don’t want it!
